Why do I feel like I'm not here mentally?

Feeling like your not here mentally is often a result of stress or anxiety, although it can also be a result of a mental health condition that is called depersonalization derealization disorder.

Depersonalization derealization disorder can involve you feeling detached from yourself which is the depersonalization and or feeling like the world is unreal which is the derealization.

Causes of depersonalization derealization disorder and feeling like you're not here mentally can be caused from severe stress and trauma and even substance abuse.

Depersonalization derealization disorder is a mental health condition, which causes your to have feelings of being detached from your own thoughts, body, and feelings or from your surroundings and it may seem foggy or dreamlike.

Stress and trauma can trigger feelings of detachment.

And using drugs or alcohol can also result in feelings of detachment.

Th feelings can also be a result of and symptoms of other issues like panic attacks, anxiety or depression.

Sometimes feeling like you're not here mentally can also be a result of being burnt out from doing repetitive tasks or because you're getting tired of your job or having to do things you don't to do.

In some cases the feeling of not being here mentally can be temporary and go away, when you change up your routine or go for a walk or just do something different.
