The point that life insurance is not worth it is if you have enough assets to cover your final expenses and debt or if you have no financial independents.

Also life insurance is not worth it if your dependents are financially self sufficient.

Life insurance is also not worth it if the payout of the life insurance is not worth the cost.

Life insurance is also often not necessary when you are a retiree that has sufficient savings or if you have adequate employer provided coverage.

So in essence, life insurance is not worth it if your death won't cause any financial hardship on other people that would need the policy otherwise to alleviate.

If you're single, and have no children and nobody depending on your income for support, you likely don't need a life insurance policy.

Instead you can prepay your funeral costs, directly to a funeral home and preplan your funeral so that everything is taken care of when you die.

You could also save the money in a savings account that you would otherwise pay for life insurance and then the money could be spread out to any dependents or used to cover your final expenses.

Life insurance is worth it for some people, but for others it can be a waste of money.
