The reason why Gen Z are protesting is because of a shared sense of discontent with their governments as well as a feeling that the traditional political systems are unresponsive.

Other common grievances and reasons for Gen Z protesting are because of corruption, economic inequality and issues such as lack of essential services, limited opportunities and political repression.

The movements are also often global, with the local grievances sparking the protests and spreading through social media as well as shared cultural symbols, such as the pirate flag from One Pieces.
