The alien egg is layed by the Xenomorph queen.

Xenomorph queens are the first stage of a Xenomorph's life cycle.

An Xenomorph drone is also able to create an egg, by way of a process called metamorphosis on a captured cacooned victim which then changes into a viable ovomorph.

Ovomorphs are produced by Queens in their ovipositor and then laid through the trunk-like appendage at the rear of the ovipositor.

As ALIENS has shown, Alien Eggs are deposited out via the Alien Queen laying them from an attached ovipositor.

Eggmorphing is almost always done to get some more hive mates before one of them molts into a queen to get sh*t started.

The Alien Egg, also referred to as a Ovomorph, is the initial stage of the life cycle of the Xenomorph.

The eggs are produced by the Alien Queen

The deleted scene seals the deal. A queen can lay eggs, but any of the aliens can make an egg out of a victim. +1 and the cigar. Major Stackings.
