There are several rocks that are worth money, although the most common rock that is worth money is the diamond.

Diamonds are a commonly known highly valuable rock that range from $1,000.00 to over $100,000.00 per carat depending on the 4Cs, their resale value often drops to openly 20% to 50% of their original purchase price, which makes the diamonds not good as financial investments.

The worth of a diamond is largely driven by the diamond's rarity.

larger carat diamonds, flawless clarity as well as colorless stones command the highest premiums.

Natural diamonds often retain some resale value, which is around 25% to 50%, whereas lab grown diamonds, which cost 70% to 90% less upfront, hold little to no resale value.

And because wholesalers and jewelers mark up diamond prices significantly, you can often only expect to recover around 50% of the original purchase price of the diamond, when you attempt to resell it, depending on the current market value.

Diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires are historically the most precious and valuable stones in the world.

The value of these stones is judged by their cut, clarity, color and carat weight.

And many semi-precious stones, while historically distinct, like high grade opals, tanzanite, and alexandrite, command astronomical prices due to extreme rarity and vibrant colors.

Painite & Musgravite are known as some of the rarest minerals on Earth, they are highly sought after by elite collectors and can cost upwards of $10,000.00 per specimen.

Grandidierite & Red Beryl are amous for their intense colors and extremely limited supply, driving their high per-carat value.

Michigan Yooperlites (Fluorescent Sodalite) are popular among hobbyists, these rocks glow bright orange under UV light.

Lake Superior Agates are prized for their distinct, vibrant banding.

Copper Agates are found almost exclusively in regions like the Keweenaw Peninsula, these unique banded rocks can fetch between $50.00 to $400.00 depending on their quality.

Valuable rocks and crystals are often found embedded in host rocks, riverbeds, or areas exposed by natural weathering or road construction.

For example, conglomerates often act as natural holding grounds for transported gems, securely locking them inside for millions of years.
