If there is no water pressure then the pipes when frozen will not burst open.
During freezing cold weather make sure to leave a faucet dripping which prevents the water from freezing so that the pipes will not burst open causing damage to the home and costing you a lot in repair bills.
I've always left water dripping in faucets and never had a problem with frozen water pipes or burst pipes either.
