Pollakiuria in toddlers in a condition in which the toddler urinates frequently and often in small amounts, throughout the day.

Pollakiuria is common in toddlers and often is a benign condition and is often triggered by a heightened awareness of bladder fullness or stress.

Although pollakiuria can be concerning for parents, it often resolves on it's own without any specific treatment needed.

Toddlers and children with pollakiuria may feel an urge to urinate or pee much more often than normal and sometimes as often as every 15 minutes to 20 minutes.

The amount of urine passed in children and toddlers with pollakiuria is often small and ideally, there are no other symptoms such as pain during urination, fever or any blood in the urine.

Pollakiuria is often not caused by any medical problem and often resolves on it's own.

Pollakiuria is most common in toddlers and children ages 3 to 8 years old although it's more common in 5 to 6 years old and before 3.

Common causes of pollakiuria include heightened bladder awareness, stress and anxiety and habit as well as increased intake of fluid, changes in urine composition or even cold weather.

Sometimes it's also just a habit or way of coping with a situation.

And stressful situations, even minor ones can trigger pollakiuria.

Toddlers also often become more aware of the sensation of their bladder filling and can lead to more frequent trips to the bathroom.
