The cheaper batteries such as batteries from the Dollar store tend to not last as long as higher priced batteries such as Energizer batteries.
However although the higher priced batteries last a bit longer it does cost you more money so you really don't save anything buying the higher priced batteries.
Although if you need longer lasting batteries for something such as a radio, flashlight etc then it can be worth the extra cost purchasing the more expensive batteries.
For thing such as clocks, TV remotes etc I use the cheap dollar store batteries as they last long enough in those low drain devices for me.
