Some people can glow in the dark.

In fact all humans do emit a very faint glow and glow in the dark although the glow that humans produce is too weak for the human eye to detect.

People glowing in the dark is a phenomenon called human bioluminescence which is the result of chemical reactions within our human cells which produce tiny amounts of light.

Although us humans cannot see the tiny amounts of light that we produce to glow in the dark, ultra sensitive cameras can and have captured images of the faint glow and it shows that it follows a 24 hour cycle.

Most of the light that us humans emit is in the late afternoon and least amount at night.

The bioluminescence in us humans is not the same as seen in fireflies or even deep sea creatures which is much brighter.

Instead the bioluminescence in humans is an ultra weak emission of light that is often referred to as biophotom emission.

The light us humans create to glow in the dark is produced by chemical reactions which involve free radicals that are generated during cellular metabolism.

And these reactions can also excite molecules which then release photons which are light particles.

The light us humans emit is around 1,000 times weaker than what the human eye can see or perceive.

The intensity of the glow that us humans create varies through the day and the highest emission of the light is in the late afternoon and the lowerst at night.
