Rocks on earth were created by deposits of sediments which settle in water and slowly solidify and other rocks are igneous which means they were formed from lava coming up out of a volcano.

Basically the rocks on earth are created and formed through the rock cycle, which is a continuous process in which existing rocks are transformed into new rocks through various types of geological processes and these processes involve the melting, cooling, weathering, erosion and the transformation of the rocks as a result of pressure and heat.

Rocks are made of different types of minerals that are mixed together including metal salts and metal oxides.

The minerals that make up rocks are naturally occurring, inorganic solids that have a specific chemical composition and crystal structure.

Rocks can also be made up of a single mineral or even a combination of different minerals.

And some rocks also contain mineraloids that are mineral like substances that lack a crystalline structure such as volcanic gases.

Minerals are the building blocks that make up rocks and are composed of specific chemical elements that are arranged in an orderly, crystalline structure such as feldspar, mica and quartz.

Mineraloids are non crystalline mineral like substances which are found in some rocks such as volcanic glass.

Rocks are also formed through various geological processes which includes the cooling of molten rock such as magma or lava and the accumulation and also cementation of sediments or even the alteration of existing rocks by pressure and heat.

Rocks are also classified broadly into 3 main types which are based on the rocks formation which include metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous.

Rocks don't grow in the same way living things do, but the rocks can increase in size and change their form through various geological processes.

These processes of rocks growing in size include mineral deposition, heat and pressure altering existing rocks, and the accumulation of sediments.
