If you have a cough that won't stop then your throat could be dry so try taking a steamy hot shower or just turn on the shower to as hot as it can go and let the shower steam up the bathroom while you sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam.
The steam can help add moisture to your throat and lungs and sometimes stop a cough that won't go away.
Also using a humidifier or vaporizer in your home and bedroom to add moisture to the air can help stop coughs as well as taking lozenges and staying well hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Adding some honey to some warm tea is also a great way of stopping coughs that won't go away as it helps me a lot.
Also elevating your head when you're in bed and using air filters and allergy proofing your bedroom and home can help to get rid of coughing that is uncontrollable.
If you still can't stop the cough then it could be caused by another condition which you should see your doctor about.
