You can put a sock in rice for a stye or put rice in a sock for a stye.

Putting rice inside of a clean sock and then microwaving the sock to create a warm compress is a very common and very effective treatment and home remedy of healing styes.

The warm compress made from a sock and rice helps to soften the clogged oil glands and then also encourages the drainage of the stye and promotes healing.

Take a clean sock and fill the clean sock with around 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of uncooked rice and tie it off.

The heat the sock with rice in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds and ensure that the sock is not too hot by testing it on your wrist before applying it to your eye.

Then place the warm sock with rice over your closed eyelid for 10 minutes to 15 minutes, several times a day.

After removing the warm sock from your eye, you can gently massage the eyelid to help encourage drainage of the stye.

You can randomly get a stye by not regularly washing your face and hands or by coming into contact with bacteria that can lead to the stye including a dirty pillow or dirty pillowcase.

Styes are commonly caused by blocked oil glands due to a buildup of oil, sweat and other material and the blocked oil glands allow the bacteria to buildup and multiply and lead to a stye.

Having the bacterial infection in your body can also lead to you developing of styes and once the bacterial infection gets into the oil producing glands, then a stye occurs.

The bacteria that causes a stye can come from the skin or even nose and then when you wipe your eyes the bacteria cna get introduced into the area of the eyes and cause a stye to breakout.

A dirty pillow can cause a stye as the bacteria that causes a stye could be on the pillow or pillow case.

Styes are caused by a bacterial infection and most commonly from the bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus.

The eyelids also have oil glands which produce a lubricating oil substance and when the oil glands become blocked it causes the bacteria to multiply and cause an infection.

The dirty pillow can harbor the bacteria and it can then be transferred to your eyes when you rub your eyes or sleep on the pillow.

The best medicine for a stye is antibiotic ointments or STYE eye drops.

Oral antibiotics in rare cases may be needed or even draining of the stye.

However in most cases you don't need any medicine for a stye as they will eventually go away on their own and using a warm compress several times a day and keeping your eyelid area clean is often enough to get the stye to go away.

You can help to speed up the process of the stye healing by using gentle cleansing and warm compresses and even some STYE eye drops to help speed the healing of the Stye.

Applying a warm compress to the stye for 10 to 15 minutes at a time several times a day can help get rid of the stye faster.

A stye will pop on it's own in most cases and most styes go away without any treatment.

A stye is a small, painful and harmless bump on the eyelid that is caused by infection of an oil gland and as the infection progresses, the gland will fill with pus and eventually the pressure from the pus will cause the stye to burst open and drain on it's own which happens within a few days to a week.

A stye will look like a red and painful lump and will often look like a pimple that appears on the edge of your eyelid and near your eyelashes.

A stye can also form inside of your eyelid and might have a white or yellow center to it and indicate pus.

And the area around the stye may also be swollen and tender.

An external stye is a type of stye which appears on the outer edge of your eyelid, and most typically occurs at the base of an eyelash and it can also be noticeable as a small, red and painful bump.

An internal stye is a type of stye that develops on the inner side of your eyelid, and it can also be less visible from the outside, but it can also cause more pain as well as discomfort.

And styes are also often painful, especially when the stye is touched or when you blink.

To make a stye go away you can apply a warm compress for 15 minutes a day several times a day and even use some lubricating eye drops like STYE eye drops.

The eye drops that you should use for a stye are Stye Sterile Lubricant Eye drops which are available over the counter and are eye drops that are formulated to relieve minor irritation that is caused by styes.

If the stye doesn't go away then a doctor can prescribe some antibiotic eye drops or erythromycin ointment to help fight off the bacterial infection.

An eye stye often lasts from 7 days to 14 days and they often go away on their own without treatment.

Some eye styes may heal and drain within a couple of days, but other eye styes can take 2 weeks to fully disappear.

You can help speed up the process of the eye stye healing by applying warm compresses to the eye styes several times a day for 10 to 15 minutes.

The 2 symptoms of a stye are pain or tenderness in the affected area of the eye and eyelid swelling.

Other common symptoms of a stye are eye discharge, a feeling of something being in the eye, and a red, painful lump on or inside the eyelid.

The red lump on your eyelid when you have a stye will be similar to a boil or pimple.

A stye is also known as hordeolum and is basically just a non harmful and non cancerous bump on the eyelid that often resembles a pimple and is caused by a bacterial infection of the oil glands or hair follicles.

A stye often develops over a couple of days and is often caused by Staphylococcus bacteria.

A stye appears as a red, swollen and tender bump on your eyelid and often with a small yellowish spot in the center.

A stye can also occur on the outer or inner eyelid, near the eyelashes or deeper within the eyelid.

Other symptoms of a stye are redness and swelling, pain and tenderness in the eyelid, pus filled lump or pimple like appearance, possible crusting of the eyelid margins, tearing, burning sensation or a feeling of something in the eye and in some cases blurred vision or light sensitivity.

Styes are often caused by Staphylococcus bacteria, which are common on the skin and the bacteria can enter and infect the oil glands or hair follicles of the eyelid.

And other factors like old makeup, poor hygiene or certain skin conditions can also increase the risk of developing a stye.

Stress can also play a role in a stye developing as stress affects the immune system and can make you more susceptible.

Most styes heal on their own within a week or two with home treatment.

You can use warm compresses applied to the stye for 5 to 10 minutes several times a day, which can help to relieve pain and promote drainage.

You should avoid touching or squeezing the stye as it can spread the infection and make the stye worse.

You can also use some over the counter antibiotic ointments to help the stye heal as well.

But if the stye does not get better or go away at home or if the infection happens to spread you should see a doctor.
