An eyelid papilloma will look like and can appear as a small, cauliflower like or finger like projections on your eyelid or your conjunctiva which is the white part of your eye.

Papillomas are generally harmless, although if you have large papillomas or symptomatic papillomas they may require treatment such as topical creams, freeing, cryotherapy or surgical removal.

An eyelid papilloma can be skin colored or even slightly darker in color and they may also have a stalk or a more flat, stuck on appearance.

HPV virus, which is also known as human papillomavirus is a common virus that can cause warts, including warts on the eyelids, although not every eyelid papillomas are caused by HPV virus.

Most papillomas are painless, although larger papillomas can cause irritation, itching and even affect your vision if they happen to grow large enough.

Most papillomas will also eventually go away on their own within a few weeks or so but if you notice any new bump on your eyelid or it does not go away or gets worse you should see an eye doctor.

Some treatment options for papillomas are excision, cryotherapy and topical creams.

Topical creams can be used in some cases to soften the papilloma and help it detach.

Cryotherapy involves freezing of the papilloma and can be a very effective treatment.

And excision is also a good surgical removal option that is common and effective in getting rid of papillomas, especially when the papillomas are symptomatic or large.
