If your child is at least 18 months or older and keeps taking his diaper off you should try to potty train him if you're ready for it and he seems ready.

Removing a diaper can be a sign of the child being ready to potty train although it can take a few months or longer for the child to be ready to use the toilet instead of diapers.

A child taking off a diaper is sometimes a sign of potty training readiness although it's not always an indicator that your child is ready to potty train.

Whether or not taking off their diaper is a sign of potty training readiness will depend on your child's age.

Some toddlers will take off their diapers just because they love getting a reaction out of the parents or because they just love taking the diaper off or are uncomfortable in the diaper.

Some kids even when they are not yet ready to potty train will take off their diapers and still not be ready to potty train.

My son started taking off his diaper when he was 15 months old and he certainly wasn't ready to potty trained and so I had to duct tape his diapers on to keep him from taking it off.

Even by 2 years old he still would take his diaper off when he could get access to it and so I tried potty training him a little after 2 years old but he still refused to use the toilet and so he had to wear diapers.

He finally potty trained a little after 3 years old but still loved taking his diaper off.

For some reason he hated diapers but wouldn't use the toilet but until your child uses the toilet they must wear diapers.

You can try potty training your child if they continue to take their diaper off but be prepared for the child to not yet be ready.

If the child is 2 to 3 years old and taking their diaper off they may be more ready to potty train and may not need diapers anymore during the day.

Explain to the child that if they don't want to wear the diaper they must use the toilet and if they don't use the toilet they must wear the diapers.

If the child is keeping their diaper dry for a few hours or longer and are able to pull their pants up and down they may be able to start potty training.

You can put the child in regular underwear and be prepared for messes a the child will feel wet in the underwear unlike the diaper that just absorbs the pee.
