Rats and mice are nocturnal animals which means they're more active during the night and not during the daytime as much.

Mice and rats prefer to forage and find their food source during the night and then hide out during the day however some rats do come out during the day as well as mice because I've seen rats and mice in my home come out during the day and that meant there was an infestation of the rats and mice that needed to be gotten rid of.

I set out traps and got them but one rat just would not get into my rat trap so I hired an exterminator to get rid of the rat in the house and it was well worth it.

Rats don't normally come out in the day because they're more of night creatures and look for food during the night when people aren't around.

However it is possible to see some rats out in the day if they really need to look for food or there is an infestation of the rats forcing them out.
