The fruits that a 6 month old should avoid are dried fruits, honey, stone fruits such as cherries, plums etc, citrus fruits, raw berries and whole grapes.

Dried fruits can be hard and difficult for babies and 6 month olds to chew and could pose a choking hazard.

Honey can contain botulism spores which are dangerous for babies and especially 6 month old babies.

Stones fruits such as plums and cherries contain pits which can be a choking hazard for 6 month olds and babies.

Citrus fruits are acidic and can irritate a 6 month old baby's stomach and other baby's stomachs.

Raw berries can contain harmful bacteria.

And whole grapes can be choking hazards for baby's including 6 month old babies.

These types of fruits should be introduced gradually as the baby gets older and has stronger chewing abilities.

Before giving these types of fruits to baby's they should be between 8 to 10 months old.

Grapes are best given to babies above 6 months of age.

Although some baby's can eat grapes at 6 months of age but they should cut up so that they pose no choking hazard and the baby should be seated and supervised.

Whole grapes should not be given to baby's until they are 10 to 12 months of age.
