Lyme syndrome is also known as Lyme disease which is a bacteria infection that is spread by the bite of infected ticks.
Symptoms of Lyme syndrome or Lyme disease include fever, rash, fatigue and headache.
If Lyme disease or Lyme syndrome is left untreated the infection could spread to your heart, joins and nervous system and even lead to death.
Other common symptoms of Lyme disease include.
Pink Eye.
Drooping of one or both sides of the face.
Heart palpitations or an abnormal heartbeat.
Swollen lymph nodes.
Pain or weakness in your arms or legs.
Prolonged fatigue.
Severe headaches and stiff neck.
Fevers and chills that are similar to the flu.
And a red rash that appears like a bull's eye, that starts at the bite site and expands over time and the rash can also range in size.
Lyme disease is treated with a 2 week to 4 week course of taking oral antibiotics and most people recover from Lyme disease completely although some people may experience prolonged symptoms.
Those most at risk for Lyme disease are people that are outdoors often and spend time in wooded and grassy areas and people that go hiking, hunting gardening etc.
