You should only burn things in your fireplace such as wood logs, manufactured logs or rolled up newspapers.
Never burn things in your fireplace such as Christmas Wrapping Paper, Trash, Cardboard, Christmas Trees, Etc.
You can use some paper to help get the logs started in the fireplace along with some pine Kindling but avoid burning pine logs in your fireplace because it produces sparks and lots of smoke as well.
