Maine Coon cats are not hypoallergenic so if you or your family are allergic to cats or have allergies then I would suggest staying away from Maine Coon cats and get another cat that is hypoallergenic.
Maine Coon cats are great cats though and very affectionate, loving, smart and even funny and will bring a person or people a lot of joy but not if you're allergic to cats.
