You have thick, black or bloody poop.
You have cold sweats or sudden pain in your arm, neck jaw or chest.
You throw up blood or have ongoing vomiting.
You have trouble swallowing or shortness of breath.
You have severe pain or other symptoms or if you indigestion lasts for more than 2 weeks.
You can help indigestion go away by taking over the counter antacid medications like Rolaids, Pepcid or Tums.
Pepto Bismol can also help with indigestion.
The antacids will neutralize the acid in your stomach so it won't irritate the tissues.
Antacids work well for occasional indigestion when the acid is the cause but they shouldn't be taken too often.
