I have back pain as well and had to quit a Job at Walmart stocking the Shelves because it required a lot of heavy lifting and being on your feet a lot.
I almost made it 10 years at Walmart doing Stocking but had to quit due to back pain and now I work in an office taking online orders for A company and then the orders get sent to the Warehouse where the Warehouse workers do the picking, packing and shipping of the orders.
It's a lot of sitting which does get boring at times however my back has felt better after this job that I've been at for almost 2 years.
I was also considering getting disability payments but glad I didn't because on disability I would only make around $1,000.00 per month and at this office job I earn $15.00 per hour and work 10 hours per day so in one day I make $150.00 per day sitting on my butt taking orders.
I'd likely be sitting on my butt at home anyway watching Television or browsing the internet so at least I'm making more money sitting on my butt at a Job.
I work roughly 22 days in a month depending on the amount of days in the month so in 22 days at $150.00 per day I make $3,300.00 per month take home pay after taxes.
So I make $2,300.00 per month more working in the office than I would on disability.
Disability payments are very hard to live on and I wouldn't want too unless I had no other choice.
Other types of jobs are call center jobs where you can make around $15.00 per hour and you mostly sit around as well with no heavy lifting.
