Drano can be used to clear a clogged toilet however it will take awhile for the Drano to actually work on the clog so you won't see immediate results.

Best thing to do though is to try using a plunger and make sure the plunger is creating suction to clear the clog.

If the plunger doesn't work to get rid of the clog in the toilet try pouring 1 cup of baking soda and 2 cups of Vinegar down the toilet.

If possible use a shop vac to suck the toilet bowl clean first because that can help with the clearing of the clog.

If the toilet is still clogged you may need to use a toilet auger in order to clear the clog out of the toilet.

Another thing to note is that the clog may actually be out in the pipe further down and not in the toilet at all so if you can check under the house or in the basement for a clean out plug on the sewer line leading from the toilet.

I've used Drano Before and left it in the toilet while I was gone to work for 8 hours during the day.

When I came back the toilet fully drained and the clog was cleared.

I'm not sure how long it exactly took to clear the toilet clog with Drano but it did work at least over 8 hours.
