People who should not take Rinvoq are people that are allergic to any medication that contains upadacitinib which is an active ingredient in Rinvoq or if you're allergic to any other ingredients in Rinvoq.

Also if you have heart disease, at risk of a stroke or blood vessel problems or other heart problems then Rinvoq may not be right for you and could make the conditions worse.

If you have certain risk factors, you may be at increased risk of heart or blood vessel problems with Rinvoq.

Rinvoq tablets are used for the treatment of severe to moderate active rheumatoid arthritis as well as other conditions like Crohn's disease, active ulcerative colitis, severe to moderate atopic dermatitis, non radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, active ankylosing spondylitis, and severe to moderate active psoriatic arthritis.

Rinvoq is prescribed for the treatment of moderate and severe rheumatoid arthritis when 1 or more medications called tumor necrosis factor blockers have been used but didn't work well or if they could not be tolerated.

Rinvoq may increase a persons risk of cardiovascular problems such as stroke, heart attack, and death caused by a cardiovascular issue.

Increased risk of death is also possible with Rinvoq.

It's possible that Rinvoq may increase the risk of death in certain people.

Rinvoq is also sometimes used to treat other conditions which include.

Atopic dermatitis or eczema.

Crohn's disease.

Ulcerative colitis.

Non radiographic axial spondyloarthritis.

Ankylosing spondylitis.

Psoriatic arthritis.

Enbrel is often confused with Rinvoq although they are different medications.

Enbrel also known as "etanercept" is a weekly injection used for many autoimmune conditions.

Currently, enbrel or entanercept is only available as a brand-name product and can be expensive.

Rinvoq also known as "upadacitinib" is used to treat many conditions related to inflammation, such as certain types of arthritis, eczema, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn's disease.
