Illnesses that are made worse by heat are multiple sclerosis, certain skin conditions, mental health issues, kidney disease, diabetes, asthma, lung disease and heart disease.

The heat puts extra strain on the body's ability to properly regulate the temperature and can also exacerbate existing symptoms.

Heat can also cause serious and even fatal health issues such as heatstroke and heat exhaustion and can trigger heart attacks or stroke or worsen kidney or lung disease.

You can get viral infections and even respiratory infections in summer.

While many viral infections are more common in the fall and winter months you can get viral infections including the flu, COVID, pneumonia etc in the summer months.

Common viral infections you can get in the summer are enteroviruses, respiratory viruses and viral gastroenteritis.

I've also gotten the flu before in the summer months although I most commonly get the flu in October which I just got over.

The diseases and conditions that are common during summertime include.

Food poisoning.
Sunburn.
