Coolant and Antifreeze are the same thing since the antifreeze also known as coolant keeps the engine cool when running and the antifreeze in the coolant keeps the engine from freezing and breaking during the cold weather.

There's really not much difference at all between antifreeze and coolant except the antifreeze coolant doesn't freeze up.

If you're buying the coolant that doesn't state it's antifreeze then it may freeze up but then again it may not.

It's best to ask someone at the store to be sure you're getting coolant that doesn't freeze.

But if the jug says antifreeze on it then it's coolant that will not freeze.
