Nichrome is used in the making of electrical heating elements since it has a higher melting point than other metals such as aluminum and copper.

If copper and aluminum were used in the heating elements then the heating element wouldn't last as long after it heats up because it would melt.

The metal alloy Nichrome which is also known as nickel chrome, is an alloy that is produced by mixing the metals nickel, chromium and, occasionally, iron together which creates a metal that has a higher melting point than other metals.
