How long can you go without paying natural gas bill?

If I can't afford to pay my entire monthly natural gas bill or even part of it how long can I go without payment on the natural gas bill before they shut the natural gas off?

Will the natural gas company be able to shut off my natural gas in the winter months for non payment or do they have to wait until spring weather?

When it's not winter out you may be able to get by for a month or so of non payment before your natural gas service gets shut off.

But in the winter months most places make it against the law for the natural gas company to shut your natural gas off since you could freeze to death without the heating system.

So during the winter months you should be able to go all those months without paying the natural gas bill but when spring comes then they'll shut you off.

If you can't pay the whole amount on your gas bill call the gas company and let them know and work out payment arrangements and pay at least some to keep the bill from getting too high come spring.
