How many miles should I cycle a day to lose weight?

To burn off 1,500 calories per week you should aim to ride your bicycle for half an hour per day at 15 miles per hour.

So that would be around 7 1/2 miles per day to help you lose weight.

Of course if you can go longer than 7 miles per day and go 15 miles per day riding your bicycle then you'll burn more calories and lose more weight faster.
