Just being in the cold is not the cause of pneumonia as some have lead people to believe.

It's common to catch pneumonia after being in the cold but pneumonia is actually caused by infections from bacteria or a virus that you've caught.

The cold can make the symptoms of pneumonia worse so it's best to stay out of the cold as much as possible when you do have pneumonia just to help you get better sooner.

Usually pneumonia is also brought on by a cold or flu that becomes worse and when you have pneumonia you should see a doctor especially for younger kids or older adults.

Pneumonia can get so bad that it kills the person so it's best to get checked out and treated by a doctor.
