To serve sausage to a 12 month old make sure they are fully cooked and cut the sausage up into thin lengthwise pieces the same as you would with hot dogs.

If the sausage are sausage patties or sausage made into patties that you made yourself then cut the sausage also into small pieces and feed them one at a time while watching the baby eat it.

To serve hot dogs to a 12 month old you need to cut the hot dogs up so that they are not a choking hazard and so the 12 month old can eat them easier and safely.

Don't give the hot dog whole to the 12 month old or they can choke.

When serving the hot dogs to a 12 month old you should cut up the cooked hot dog into quarters lengthwise and create long sticks that the toddler can practice biting.

And when serving the hot dogs to the 12 month old make sure the 12 month old is seated and you're an arms length away.

Avoid cutting the hot dogs in rounds, half moons or small quarters at 12 months of age as they can still pose a choking hazard.

You just want to cut them in half and quarters lengthwise and into long thinner sticks and allow the 12 month old to chew them up into small enough pieces that they can swallow.

When the baby gets older you can cut them into smaller pieces for the child to eat or just give them the thinly cut hot dogs.

I always cut my 12 month olds and children's hot dogs up into small thin pieces before serving them and they haven't choked that way.

My mom used to cut the hot dogs up for me and my brothers and sisters the same way when we were babies and little.

So I started cutting the hot dogs up the same way as she did for us.
