ChillWell does make a room humid due to the ChillWell multi functional design that allows it to cool the air and purify and humidify the air.
The Chillwell does work in high humidity and removes excess moisture from the air and even humidify it.
However evaporative coolers work better in lower humidity as the evaporative coolers use water to help cool the air.
The more humid a climate is, the harder it is for a direct evaporative cooling system to cool effectively.
This being said, indirect/direct evaporative cooling systems hold their performance far better in more humid regions, such as coastal areas, during the humid hours.
The ChillWell AC cooler unit does really work but you must be within around 12 inches of the ChillWell to feel the cool air.
The ChillWell does not actually cool a room but instead the ChillWell helps to cool your body off when you're sitting next to it.
The ChillWell cooler is basically just a small evaporated cooler that uses water to cool the air and the person near it but it is not an actual AC unit that will cool an entire room.
You still need your regular AC unit to fully cool the room but the ChillWell can help to assist your AC unit when it's too hot for it alone.

Even though they claim that the ChillWell and Arctic Air unit will cool a room that is false advertising but they are good for cooling a person down and helping to assist with the regular AC unit.
