Yes you can get a ticket for driving a vehicle with Tinted or blacked out tail lights in Maryland.

I actually was in Maryland this summer driving a friends car that I didn't know had tinted Tail Lights and one night I was driving and got pulled over and cited for the Tinted Tail Lights.

The cop was actually nice about it since it wasn't my vehicle and the friend had to pay the fine for the Tinted Tail Lights.

I believe the ticket for the Tinted Tail Lights cost him $150.00 and rightfully so too because Tail Lights are red and there for a reason and that reason is safety.

Those Tail Lights need to be visible to other vehicles so they can see the vehicle ahead of them and tinting those Tail lights making them dimmer creates a safety concern.
