When you're having whooping cough the coughs will sound like "whoop" hence the name whooping cough.

Sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, watery eyes, vomiting, paroxysmal cough and periods of no breathing are all other symptoms of whooping cough.

The first stage of whooping cough is the running nose stage which typically lasts for one to two weeks.

The second stage of whooping cough is the paroxysmal coughing stage and the third stage of whooping cough is the convalescent stage.

Antibiotics are required to treat whooping cough so it's best to see a doctor if you're experiencing whooping cough especially if it's and older person or a child.
