Yes Olive oil does work fine as a carrier oil for use to dilute essential oils.
You can also use coconut oil or even just plain vegetable oil to dilute essential oils.
A good ratio for diluting carrier oil is to add 12 drops of essential oil to one ounce of carrier oil.
