How can I keep ants out of my house?

For some reason ants have seem to taken up residence in my home and have been crawling all over my kitchen counter and for some reason even hanging around my computer desk.

How can I get rid of the ants in my house and keep more ants from coming into my home?

My house is clean and I never leave any food or anything else out on the counter and there's nothing but usually a cup of coffee sitting at my desk while I'm working on the computer.

It's good that you keep a clean house and pickup any food debris which is a good thing.

Ants can get in through tiny cracks and crevices so look around and see if you see any entrance points for the ants and if you do then use some caulking to seal up those entry points that the ants could be getting into your house through.

You can also make a homemade ant spray using peppermint oil and water and spray the ants directly with it and spray around any entry points or crevices where the ants are.

Take a small spray bottle and put 10 to 15 drops of the peppermint oil into the bottle of water and shake it up and then spray the ants with it.

You can also set out sticky traps to catch the ants that are crawling across your counter and on your desk.
