The areas that are prone to fog are low lying areas and valleys such as California's Central Valley and also the Great Smoky Mountains are most prone to fog.

Fog does have benefits such as providing plants and soil with moisture, cleaning the air and improving the air quality and atmospheric clarity and also offering a serene morning atmosphere.

The difference between haze vs fog is haze is made of tiny particles of dust, salt smoke or other matter which may be in the air and is not necessarily at ground level and fog occurs only when the air is at or very near saturation which means that the relative humidity in the air is at or near 100 percent.

When it's foggy it means that the humidity in the air is at 100 percent and the water hangs in the air.

Humidity is basically a cloud that is close to the ground and the humidity causes loss of visibility which can be partial or even 100 percent loss of visibility.

It is not bad to be outside in the fog unless you have breathing issues or respiratory issues or there are pollutants in the air.

Fog is bad for your health and bad for your lungs, especially if you have respiratory issues or breathing issues or if there is pollutants in the air when the fog is around.
