My 8 year old son keeps wetting his pants so I put him back in diapers full time?

My 8 year old son has been wetting his pants daily and does not bother to go to the toilet and will sit in his wet pants until I make him clean up.

Finally today I went to the Dollar General Store and got some size 7 Gentle Steps which fit him and put him in them.

He put up a fight but I spanked him and told him that he would have to wear the diapers and use them for both pee and poop.

He has settled down about them now and is wetting them and pooping them like he is supposed to.

How long should I keep my 8 year old son in diapers?

He is only allowed to wear the diaper, shirt and socks at home or just a diaper at home so I can make sure he is in them and not taking them off.

Yes, make sure you let his teachers, Principal and School nurse that he's no longer allowed to use the bathroom. Set a  schedule with the nurse, every hour or 2 hours, he gets checked and changed. At home, it's a shirt and diapers only. Make sure family members and his friends are him. He has ZERO Big Boy Privileges. Baby Bottles and Pacifers are a must. High Chair, maybe a booster for the car. Rules are a must.

You did the right thing in putting your 8 year old son back in diapers full time for wetting his pants.

To me it sounds like your 8 year old son was wetting his pants on purpose so that he would get put back in diapers which happened.

You're a good mother for putting your 8 year old son back in diapers.

I love the Gentle Steps size 7 diapers and myself am wearing a very wet one right now.

I also agree with your rules of making him wear just the diaper, shirt and socks around the house as it makes it easier for diaper changes and checks as well.

I'm sure your 8 year old son is secretly enjoying his diapers and is just what he actually wanted.
