Thrush tongue is a condition in which fungal or yeast infections grow on your tongue or in your mouth and can lead to white, raised, cottage cheese like lesions or spots on your tongue and cheeks and it can lead to white stringy stuff in your mouth or on your tongue.

The white stringy stuff on your tongue is a result of oral thrush which is a fungal infection that is caused by candida fungus.

Things that can cause oral thrush are stress, dry mouth, hormonal changes and poor oral hygiene.

The stringy mucus associated with oral thrush is most often caused by poor oral hygiene, hormonal changes and dry mouth and stress.
