In 2022 there were two isoxazoline related class action lawsuits in North America and 1 lawsuit in Quebec and another one in New Jersey.

The controversy with Nexgard is that Nexgard can cause neurological issues such as seizures, stumbling, and twitching in your dog or pet.

Simparica can also cause some neurological issues in dogs and pets.

Simparica is better than Nexgard plus as Simparica Trio kills fleas and ticks faster than Nexgard Plus.

The simparica Trio kills fleas within 3 hours and ticks within 8 hours and Nexgard Plus can take 4 hours for killing fleas and up to 24 hours to kill ticks.

Simparica does not treat adult heartworms or whipworms and tapeworms in dogs.

The side effects of Simparica in dogs is mild and short lived diarrhea, tremor (shaking), ataxia, convulsions and vomiting.

Dogs that should not take Simparica Trio are dogs that have a history of seizures as Simparica Trio contains sarolaner which is a member of the isoxazoline class that has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions that include seizures, ataxia and tremors in dogs with or without a history of neurologic disorders.

The FDA warning against Simparica Trio is that some dogs have experienced adverse events such as seizures, ataxia and muscle tremors when taking Simparica Trio.

There is a problem with Simparica Trio for dogs as it has been found to sometimes cause neurologic problems in dogs such as unsteadiness, tremors, seizures even when they don't have a history of neurologic disorder.

Simparica Trio for dogs has also not been evaluated in breeding, lactating or pregnant dogs and the most common adverse reactions from Simparica Trio is vomiting and diarrhea.

Simparica Trio for dogs treats dogs with hookworm and roundworm infections in the gut and treats flea and tick infestations.

Simparica Trio is also used to prevent heartworm and lungworm disease in dogs which is caused by blood worms which infect the dogs heart and blood vessels which supply the lungs.

Simparica Trio in dogs may cause neurologic signs such as tremors, unsteadiness and/or seizures in dogs with or without a history of neurologic disorders.

Also simparica trio has not been evaluated in pregnant, breeding or lactating dogs.

A Veterinarian will need to write a prescription for Simparica Trio.

Simparica Trio has been demonstrated safe for dogs as young as eight weeks old and weighing as little as 2.8 lbs.

The generic active ingredient for Simparica is Sarolaner.

A cheaper alternative to Simparica Trio is NexGard SPECTRA.

Simparica Trio can be given to your dog with or without food.

Simparica Trio tablets are palatable and readily consumed by the majority of dogs when offered.

If the Simparica Trio tablet is not taken up voluntarily by the dog it can also be given with food or directly into the mouth.

The tablets should not be divided.
