If dust gets into a plug or an outlet it can potentially cause an electrical fire as dust is combustible and can be ignited by a spark.

The dust can also interfere with the electrical flow to the plugs from the outlet and cause electrical resistance.

Dust in an outlet can potentially start a fire although it's rare for dust to start a fire in an electrical outlet.

However it's still a good idea to keep dust out of the electrical outlets and keep them clean and in good working condition to prevent a possible electrical fire.

Dust can start an electrical fire and can ignite from the heat of the electrical devices.

Dust can accumulate around heaters, electrical equipment and electrical sockets, switches etc and ignite.

Dust is actually combustible and can easily ignite from a flame or spark.

Dust particles also contain materials that are flammable like dead skin cells, pollen, paper fibers and hair.

If dust gets into an electrical outlet there's a small chance it could start a fire but most times the dust doesn't cause any issues.

Still it's a good idea to run a vacuum hose over the electrical outlet to suck out any dust.

It's also a good idea to shut the power off and remove the outlet covers and vacuum inside the outlets as much as you can as well.

Also make sure to not overload the outlets as that too can start a fire.

Or if the outlets become worn out they can lead to a fire due to resistance.

Overloading of electrical outlets and circuits is one of the most common causes of electrical fires.

Plugging too many devices into one outlet or power strip can cause the circuit to overheat and spark.
