To get burnt oil smell out of your house open up windows and doors if possible for ventilation.
Allow the room or house to air out for an hour or 2 until most of the burnt oil smell is out of the house.
Then boil a solution of water and vinegar.
Bring 1 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of vinegar to a boil in a small saucepan.
Allow the vinegar and water solution to simmer for a couple of minutes.
You can also add some bay leaves or vanilla extract or fresh rosemary, lemon peels or lemon halves.
Cinnamon sticks can also be added to cut down the vinegar smell and add a nice pleasant natural odor.
If you can't open the windows or doors to allow the burnt oil smell to clear you can also just boil the vinegar and water solution to rid the burnt oil smell.
If you have a range vent you should also turn the range vent on above your stove to help extract some odors.
It may take a day or two in some cases for the burnt oil smell to fully go away depending on how bad the burnt oil smell or other burnt smell is in your house.
You can also leave a bowl or bowls of baking soda, coffee grounds, or vinegar on your counter overnight or in areas where the burnt oil smells or other odors are as well to help absorb the burnt oil smell and other odors.
