Vitamin D deficiency causes hair thinning as the anagent or growth phase shortens which prematurely pushes more of the resting follicles into the telogen rest phase.

And excessive shedding occurs and results in thinner hair.

Vitamin D is important for hair growth as vitamin D interacts directly with your hair follicles which signal the anagen growth phase where thick hair is produced.

Maintaining sufficient vitamin D is essential for healthy growth of hair.

People who should avoid taking vitamin D3 are people with phenylketonuria, liver disease or diabetes or people that have any other health condition that requires them to avoid or limit the vitamin D3 substances in their diet.

It is safe to take vitamin D3 everyday as long as it's in the proper dosages and as long as you don't take more than 4,000 IU of vitamin D3 a day.

The difference between vitamin D and vitamin D3 is vitamin D3 is the natural form of vitamin D that is produced by the body from sunlight and vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin which regulates the phosphorous levels and calcium levels in the body.

The best fruit for vitamin D is oranges which are very rich in vitamin D and is also fortified with calcium.

The max amount of vitamin D you can take a day is 4,000 IU for adults and 3,000 IU for children 4 to 8 years old.

The causes of vitamin D to drop are kidney or liver failure, malnutrition, darker skin pigment and not enough exposure to sunlight.

The symptoms of very low vitamin D are muscle pain, increased sensitivity to pain, bone pain, tingly or pins and needles sensation in the feet and or hands, muscle weakness in the body parts near the trunk of your body such as your thighs or upper arms and waddling when walking due to muscle weakness in the legs or hips.

Other symptoms of low vitamin D include.

Heart Palpitations.

Feeling Faint.

Headaches.

Pale Skin.

Breathlessness.

Lethargy, lack of energy.

Fatigue and extreme tiredness.

B vitamins are one of the best vitamins for liver function.

Low vitamin D and B12 can be caused by some types of medical conditions or malabsorption of vitamin D and B12.

To absorb vitamin D, your body must also absorb fat.

The inability to digest fat, or fat malabsorption, could be linked to liver problems or cystic fibrosis.

Low vitamin D and low vitamin B12 can also be caused by long term use of antacids and other medications, heavy treatments like chemotherapy, poor gut health, chronic stress, low stomach acids, fad diets and going completely fat-free can lead to such deficiencies.

The most common cause of B12 deficiency is Pernicious anemia.

Pernicious anemia is a type of vitamin B12 anemia.

The body needs vitamin B12 to make red blood cells.

You get this vitamin from eating foods such as meat, poultry, shellfish, eggs, and dairy products.

A special protein, called intrinsic factor (IF), binds vitamin B12 so that it can be absorbed in the intestines.

People who have a vitamin B12 deficiency can have neurological symptoms and/or damage without anemia (lack of red blood cells).

The general physical symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency can include: Feeling very tired or weak.

Experiencing nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.

Not feeling as hungry as usual.

The symptoms of a b12 deficiency are disturbed vision, depression, irritability, mouth ulcers, feeling of pins and needles, sore and red tongue, pale yellow tinge to your skin and changes in the way that you walk and move around.

Other symptoms of a b12 deficiency are fatigue, breathlessness, numbness, poor balance, and memory trouble as well as anemia.

Also having a lack of vitamin b12 can cause anxiety in people who previously didn't have anxiety.

Besides causing anxiety having a lack of Vitamin b12 can also cause other psychiatric problems including panic attacks, depression and hallucinations.

When I suddenly started getting anxiety I went to the doctor about it and they said that I had a b12 deficiency so you certainly can have anxiety from having a lack of Vitamin b12.

So get checked out by the doctor if you suddenly start having anxiety or any other mentioned above things such as panic attacks, depression and hallucinations as well.

Since my vitamin b12 deficiency is not too severe I take supplements in pill form and changed my diet which is what the doctor suggested and it's working.

When the Vitamin b12 deficiency is more severe then you may need to take injections to treat the lack of Vitamin b12 deficiency.
