Throttle is not the same as thrust.

Throttle and thrust are different although they are related.

Thrust is the force which propels an object forward.

Throttle is what controls the power output of an engine and thrust propels that object forward.

Throttle is what determines the level of power that is used, and thrust is the result of the power from the throttle being applied.

A throttle is the mechanism which is what controls the flow of a fluid, such as air or steam, to regulate an engine's power and speed.

The throttle is essentially a valve that restricts or allows the passage of the fluid, thus controlling how much fuel or power is delivered to the engine.

In vehicles, the throttle is often controlled by a pedal, known as the accelerator or gas pedal.

When you press the gas pedal on a vehicle for example you're increasing the throttle and the amount of fuel and air entering the engine which increases the speed of the engine and vehicle and creates thrust to propel the vehicle forward and down the road.
