If a car brand copies another car brands design then when the other car company finds out they will then contact their lawyers and then have a letter sent to the car company and ask them to cease and desist with the design or they will be taking them to court.
Likewise they may still take the car company to court and sue them for use of their design without permission and the car company could end up paying millions to the other car company for stealing the cars design.
