Is it better to change your oil hot or cold?

When changing the oil in your vehicle is it better to change the engine oil while the oil and engine is hot or is it better to wait until the engine cools off and then change the engine oil cold?

It really doesn't make much difference whether you change your oil hot or cold.

But for me I always change the engine oil after the engine has been shut off for at least 20 to 30 minutes but while the engine and oil is still warm.

letting the engine sit for awhile allows the engine oil to travel back to the engine oil pan and the warm oil will drain easier and faster from the engine oil pan.
