Do you still pay taxes if you are unemployed?

If you owe taxes from the time you were previously employed then yes you still owe and have to pay those taxes from the previous time you were making money.

You can choose to have the owed taxes withheld from unemployment compensation or choose to  just pay the estimated taxes each quarter to avoid a tax bill when you file your return.

So yes you still need to pay taxes owed while unemployed.
