Lizards are scared of lavender and lizards find the scent of lavender to be unpleasant and may even try to avoid the areas where there's a scent of lavender.

The lavender has a strong and pungent aroma which is not liked by lizards and they are known to keep their distances from plants that are cultivated in areas with lavender.

Lavender oil that is diluted with some water can also be used as a lizard repellent by spraying it.

And lavender can also be used to deter some snakes which can also keep lizards away as lizards are also a food source for snakes.

You can also make a spray to deter lizards by using a mixture of water, black pepper or red chili pepper or even cayenne pepper.

Lizards find these ingredients irritating.

Other things that will deter lizards are vinegar, citronella essential oils and peppermint oil.

Bonide Snake stopper is also available to help to repel lizards.

To make cayenne pepper spray, mix some cayenne pepper with some water.

Then optionally add a bit of dish soap for better adhesion.

You can use a hot water infusion or a simple mix.

Strain the solids and pour it into a spray bottle for application to to areas you want to deter pests from or plants.

The ingredients for cayenne pepper spray are powder or fresh or minced cayenne pepper, water, hot or room temperature water and dish soap which is optional.

If using dish soap you only need a few drops.

If using the infusion method for making cayenne pepper spray, simmer the cayenne pepper in water for 10 minutes to 15 minutes to draw out the heat, then simmer it with additional water for 30 minutes to 45 minutes.

Then remove it from heat and allow it to cool down, and then infuse it for at least 24 hours to increase it's potency.

If using the simple mix and not the infusion method, you simply mix the cayenne pepper powder directly into the water.

If desired you can add some soap to help the spray adhere to plants.

Strain out any solids from the mixture and pour the strained mixture into a spray bottle.

Shake the bottle well before using it and apply it to plants or any areas you want to deter pests from.

To make lizard pepper spray take a spray bottle and put some black pepper or even red chili powder, hot sauce or red chili flakes in the bottle and add some water.

Then shake the bottle to mix the pepper and water together and you have a lizard pepper spray.
