Yes you can cash a check that is made out to someone else.
But the person who the check is made out to has to sign or endorse the check over to you so you can cash or deposit it.
The person will need to endorse the back of the check and write pay to the order of "Your Name" where your name will be the name the person is endorsing the check too.
And then when they take the check to the bank they'll need to endorse the check also.
Be aware though that some banks may not cash or deposit the check when it's been signed over to someone else so verify with the bank first.
