Dawn dish soap does disinfect when you use the Dawn antibacterial dish soap although normal Dawn dish soap does not disinfect.

Dawn antibacterial dish soap disinfects and removes 99 percent of bacteria from your hands and also helps to fight and lift grease from dishes, pots and pans etc.

Dawn also makes disinfecting wipes which contain hydrogen peroxide and can kill 99.9 percent of bacteria and viruses and can also cut through grease and remove soap scum.

Most dish soaps are not antibacterial and are not made to kill germs.

Instead most dish soap lifts the bacteria from the surfaces so they can be washed away with water.

To effectively disinfect and sanitize your dishes you should use hot water.

And unlike alcohol-based hand sanitizers, washing your hands with soap and water does not actually kill pathogens, viruses or germs, it removes them instead and washes them down the drain.

Using Dawn or other dish soap and vinegar together can disinfect.

Dish soap which is known for its grease fighting properties, pairs excellently with vinegar, which acts as a natural disinfectant and deodorizer.

Using dish soap and vinegar together not only targets stubborn stains and buildup but also leaves surfaces sanitized and fresh.
