How long does a speeding ticket affect your insurance?

When a speeding ticket or any other moving violation affects your insurance rates it's what's known as a chargeable period.

That chargeable period is for 3 years in most states.

So if you got a speeding ticket now it will affect your car insurance for a period of 3 years and after those 3 years have passed then the speeding ticket or other violation shouldn't affect your car insurance rates anymore.
